Security

High security comes as standard with all our products, with features and accessories to repel all but the most determined and professional intruder, but for even higher security, specialised features can often be included on request. These include not only hardware with multi-point locking mechanisms, but also specialist glass types such as toughened and laminated.

All modern uPVC windows and doors have several 'locking points' securing the opener to the outer frame. Names like hookbolts and shootbolts sound forbidding and that is just what they are; each holds the opener secure at different points, making it impossible for all but the most determined intruder to open.

Nowadays, most frames are 'internally glazed' - the glass is secured in place from the inside - to prevent the burglars trick of removing the whole pane of glass by prizing out the beading from outside.
